We continue to assist Ukrainian hospitals in providing medical instruments, prostheses, and bone implants for limb surgeries for military and civilian personnel.
Power medical instruments (saws and drills) are needed for complex reconstructive surgeries, which allow patients to avoid amputation and save limbs.
In October 2024, Oleksandr, a restaurant waiter from Kyiv, suffered a serious shoulder injury during a massive attack on Kyiv.
Passersby used a belt to stop the bleeding and took Oleksandr to the hospital.
Over the course of 1.5 months, Oleksandr underwent 7 surgeries. During the healing process, the wound became infected due to the lack of high-quality surgical instruments and materials. Doctors discouraged the patient from further surgeries and persistently suggested amputating his forearm. Thanks to our timely help, Oleksandr was fitted with an elbow prosthesis. A year later, he returned to his job.
The funds that we were able to raise allowed us to purchase three more sets of medical instruments including saws and drills, special orthopedic devices, medications, and bone implants. 65 military and civilian personnel have already been operated on without complications, thanks to high-quality instruments and our wonderful orthopedic doctors.
We want to express our gratitude to all the sponsors who help us continue our important work.
The name of the patient was changed to protect his privacy.
