Dear Supporters,
This was a big quarter for our scholarship fund. Schools in Laos reopened and we were able to use funds to pay scholarships for over 30 students in Luangprabang and Vientiane.
This year the scholarship fund was able to provide support for both male and female students from primary school to university and private English lessons. We still have several scholarships to pay out at the end of this month, but we estimate over 4,000 dollars will have been spent on these sponsorships.
Overall, the GVI Trust has greatly contributed directly to UN SDG #4, Quality Education, and it’s indicator: 4.B, increasing the number of scholarships available, through its continued support of increasing access to education for Lao students. We’ve also contributed greatly to UN SDG#5, Gender Equality, by offering equal opportunities for female and male students to earn scholarships with over a dozen female students sponsored at various educational institutions.
Thank you to our Donors, Fundraisers and Supporters!
With Gratitude,
Laos Scholars
