AIL keeps funds on hand to help with emergency needs as they arise and to be ready for any disaster situation. Staff ensure there are supplies on hand and money set aside ready for the next emergency situation. Right now staff are working on replenishing stocks so your support in this effort is greatly appreciated.
Of particular concern at this time is the prolonged drought in Afghanistan which has hit a wide area and many provinces. Some people are so desperate they are taking the drastic measure of leaving their homes and land to move to an area where there is water. AIL is looking at how it can assist some of these people. Ramadan is a time when a distribution will be made and staff look to the Learning Centers for help, as they are best placed to identify people in need, particularly widows and the disabled.
