Dear friends,
October has arrived, bringing with it the first hints of winter — the air is getting colder, the evenings grow darker faster, yet the sun still blesses us with moments of warmth and light. We cherish every one of these golden autumn days, spending as much time as possible outdoors with the children, knowing that soon frost and snow will keep us mostly inside. These little walks — filled with laughter, rustling leaves, and the joy of movement — remind us why our work matters so deeply.
At Dzherelo Centre, life does not slow down with the changing seasons. Despite the ongoing war and constant uncertainty, we continue to work with all our strength. Our team remains committed to expanding services and reaching even more families in need. New day care departments are being opened across the city, allowing children and young people with disabilities to receive care closer to their homes. Each new space is more than just a facility — it is a place of safety, dignity, and belonging.
But the truth is, the needs are growing every day. The war continues, and many families around us are exhausted — emotionally, physically, and financially. Prices rise, jobs are lost, fathers are at the front, and mothers are doing everything they can to simply get through the day. For these families, even the most basic necessities — food, hygiene items, medicine — become a burden too heavy to carry alone.
Thanks to your support, we continue to provide humanitarian aid packages to those who need it most. These packages are not just material assistance — they are reassurance. They say, “You are not alone. Someone cares. Someone sees you.” And right now, this feeling of being seen is just as vital as bread and sugar.
As we prepare for the coming winter, we do so with both determination and humility. We are stocking supplies, checking our heating systems, securing power backups — anything to make sure that regardless of what happens, children and families can stay warm, safe, and supported. Winter in Ukraine is always demanding, but during wartime it becomes a true test of resilience. And yet, we face it with hope.
Because we know that we are not walking this path alone.
Your solidarity gives us strength. Your kindness turns fear into courage. Your support allows us to keep going — step by step, family by family, child by child — building not only services, but trust, humanity, and light.
From all of us at Dzherelo — thank you for staying with us. Together, we continue forward, holding on to hope, believing in peace, and working every day for a better tomorrow.
Let us keep going, with warmth in our hearts.
