Activity report for project#48229

A report of Maria Help for the Needy Association activitiies for the last four months. The association carried out the following activities.
1. The school fees for the 25 children under our sponsorship program were paid for the 2022/2023 academic year.
2. 20 more benches were bought to solve the problem of sitting.
A general meeting of teachers and parents was organized and an executive elected to improving on teacher/parents relationship and management of the community school . Three teachers have been recruited to join the teaching staff for the academic year 2022/2023.
3.We were able to pay the monthly allowances to the 7 community based teachers for 4 months now.
4.The association has started a high school section. 15 text books were bought to enrich the library.
5. Two more classrooms are under construction solve the problem of accomodations. This will improve on teaching and learning and accommodate the growing number of children coming to the center.
We remain thankful to all our benefactors for their generosity and pray that God should reward each one of you abundantly.

The management of Ave Maria Help for the Needy Association is glad to present our activity report for the last four months. We start by thanking our benefactors for their generosity that enabled the association to carry out the following activities for the benefit of children from poor and vulnerable families.
1. The 25 children under our sponsorship program effectively received financial support in terms of payment of school fees and all of them successfully ended the 2021/2022 academic year.
2. We organised catch up classes for students during holidays and held a meeting with parents and teachers aimed at improving teacher/parents relationship I'm the education of their children. Three more teachers have been identified to join the teaching staff for the academic year 2022/2023.
3.We were able to pay the monthly allowances to the 4 community based teachers for the entire academic year.
4.The 17 pupils that for public exams, First School Leaving Certificate and Common entrance Examination scored 100% in both exams. 13 students sat for the government official certificate examination. Of the 13, 9 succeeded, scoring 69.23%. The first best 3 students in terms of grades, are from Ave Maria center.
Admission into form one and other classes is going on well and more parents are enrolling their children because of the excellent results the center has recorded this year. We equally received congratulatry message from the Divisional officer for Jakiri for the courage and impact of our work in the community despite the security challenges.
5. Three classrooms have been completed to solve the problem of accomodations. This will improve on teaching and learning.
The administration, teaching staff and children of Ave Maria wish to extend our gratitude to all our benefactor and pray that God may replenish the source from where they got the funds to assist us in our efforts to offer children the opportunity to go to school despite the current socio-political crisis that has been going on for 5 years in the two English speaking regions of Cameroon.

The management of Ave Maria Help for the Needy Association is glad to present our activity report for the last four months. We wish to extend our deepest gratitude to all our benefactors for their financial assistance which enabled us to carry out the following activities. Before we proceed to give our report, we wish to announce to our benefactors the death of one of our community based teachers, through an accident last week. May his soul rest in peace. 1. We completed school fees for 25 children under our sponsorship program and provided them with diadactic materials. 2. In order to enhance effective learning, we organised a workshop with the 14 community based teachers on teaching in emergency. One additional computer was bought to improve on learning and this greatly reduced over crowding on computers section 3.We have been able to pay the monthly allowances to the 4 community based teachers. 4.The 15 students and 17 pupils that we registered for public exams are being followed up. The just sat for the regional mock exams and they did well. 5. To solve the problem of space at our center, three new classrooms have been constructed and are near completion.The center will be able to accommodate more vulnerable children so that they can access education. We use the opportunity to extend our sincere gratitude to our donors and GlobalGiving for this initiative that has open opportunities for children, victims of the ongoing crisis in the two anglophone regions of Cameroon to access education.
