Atlas Ireland: Rugby Without Borders – July Update
Founded by former British and Irish Lions legend Shane Byrne, Atlas Ireland continues to prove that rugby is more than just a game, it’s a powerful tool for change. With a vision rooted in peace, reconciliation, and social inclusion, Shane has witnessed how the sport breaks down barriers across Northern and Southern Ireland, uniting young people regardless of religion, culture, or background.
Creating Space for Everyone
In partnership with International Mixed Ability Sports (IMAS), Atlas Ireland delivers Mixed Ability Rugby sessions designed for children who too often fall through the cracks. These sessions offer more than just sport—they provide healing, confidence, and community for children facing:
Physical disabilities
Life-limiting illnesses
Mental health challenges
By offering an inclusive, judgement-free environment, Atlas Ireland is helping children build resilience and belonging both on and off the field.
From Dublin to London: One Mission, Shared Impact
This spirit of inclusion extends across borders through TackleLondon—Atlas Foundation’s UK initiative supporting young people impacted by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) like abuse, neglect, or poverty. Delivered in schools and rugby clubs, TackleLondon creates safe spaces where young people can:
Form meaningful connections
Build self-esteem and life skills
Access mentorship and brighter futures
Whether in Belfast or Brixton, Atlas is showing that community, care, and opportunity can rewrite the stories of vulnerable young people.
You Can Help Change Lives
