Hi Everyone,
At the end of March/beginning of April, I was fortunate to spend nearly two weeks in Barlad, along with our CEO Laura Larkin and one of our US Board Members, Kyle Arney. One of the things we really wanted to share with you was how amazed we are at the progress we see in children. Sure, it is often slow . But it is steady. We were overjoyed to see non-verbal autistic kids beginning to speak. To learn about the improvements in school, for those who attend. To see the behavioral improvements as non-verbal kids begin to learn how to better communicate their needs. All of this is because of your support to our special kids at Delia's Center. We couldn't do it without !
For World Autism Awareness Day, we held a party to celebrate our children. For the youngest ones, fairy characters came to play with bubbles, music, songs and dancing and a super fun parachute for games. Our young child educator, Gabriela, took the lead in organizing everyone for an amazing day!
We know you would love to see the photos so those are for you!
We look forward to touching base again to update you and to stay in touch. Should you have any questions, please reach out to me at lauren@deliafoundation.org.
Thank you again for caring!
Best,
Lauren
