Overview
The Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) Workshop is designed to equip students in Rwanda with practical skills in peace building, conflict resolution, nonviolent communication, leadership, and cooperation. The project aims to nurture a strong culture of peace among young people, empowering them to become positive change agents in their schools and communities.
Objectives
Promote nonviolent approaches to conflict resolution among students
Build leadership, teamwork, and communication skills
Encourage mutual respect, empathy, and understanding
Strengthen a sustainable culture of peace and reconciliation
Current Status
Despite strong interest and the clear need for peace education among students, the AVP Workshop is currently on hold due to insufficient funding. The lack of financial resources has limited our ability to conduct training sessions, provide learning materials, and facilitate workshops across schools.
Call for Support
We are calling upon donors, partners, and well-wishers to support this important initiative. Your contribution will directly enable us to resume the AVP workshops and positively impact students by fostering peace, resilience, and responsible citizenship.
Conclusion
Investing in the AVP Workshop is an investment in Rwanda’s future. By supporting this project, donors will help empower students with the values and skills needed to build peaceful schools and communities.
Together, we can shape a generation committed to peace building and nonviolence.
