It warms our hearts here at HOPE Africa when we can make a random schoolchild’s day. Hlomia is a grade 11 learner who lives with her 5 siblings in an informal settlement just outside Cape Town. She has big dreams for her future – to become a doctor to help people who cannot afford medical costs. Her favourite subjects are maths and life orientation. She was browsing through shoes at a local clothing store to look at school shoes she was hoping her brother would be able to buy for her at month end. When a HOPE Africa staff member noticed the condition of the shoes she was wearing, there was no way that she was going to be allowed to leave the store without a new pair with socks. We are thankful to our donors that made it possible for Hlomia to leave the store with a brand-new pair of shoes and we wish her well in all her future endeavours!
