We would like to share an update on the progress of the shelter project at Katulumba Community School.
As required by construction procedures in Zambia, the building of the shelter has involved both district and provincial authorities. Following this review process, and also due to the increase in construction material costs caused by inflation, it has become clear that an additional €450 is necessary to complete the project.
Once these extra €450 have been raised, we will be able to proceed with the completion of the shelter, supported by the on-site supervision of our volunteers, including a professional builder.
Despite these challenges, our commitment remains strong and we are confident that this will allow the school to welcome more students by the start of the second term of the school year, helping to avoid double shifts and improve learning conditions for the children.
For this reason, we continue to rely on the invaluable support of our donors, particularly to cover these costs.
We sincerely thank you for your trust and continued support. Your generosity makes this project possible and brings us closer to opening a safe, welcoming, and fully equipped learning space for the children of Katulumba.
With gratitude,
Sara
