With your steadfast support, we are turning climate action into a lived reality across Kenya’s schools and communities. Together, we are restoring degraded lands, planting hope with every tree, and nurturing a generation ready to protect and sustain our environment for the future.
In last 4 months, we continued our mission to green schools and communities through impactful tree planting campaigns across Kadzozo Comprehensive School, Mazeras Girls Memorial School, Mpirani Secondary School, and Ribe Methodist Church. With your generosity, we donated and planted 2,010 tree seedlings, transforming bare spaces into living classrooms where students and community members learn the value of environmental stewardship while helping to combat climate change.
In partnership with Habib Bank AG Zurich Kenya, we launched a large-scale reforestation initiative at Chandaria Ribe Forest in Kilifi County. With 18,649 seedlings already planted, we are progressing toward our goal of planting over 50,000 trees in the coming months.
This initiative is about restoring biodiversity, sequestering carbon, and supporting local livelihoods. Chandaria Ribe Forest, known for its thriving beekeeping activities, will benefit from enhanced biodiversity, supporting honey production and income generation for local families while ensuring long-term community ownership and care of the forest.
Building on our commitment to climate-smart agriculture, we have expanded our pioneering dragon fruit project at Mabati Technical Training Institute. Following the positive progress of our initial 100 dragon fruit seedlings, we introduced 10 new species sourced from Palora Farm-Isinya to diversify the project. As a drought-resistant, high-value crop, dragon fruit holds immense promise for food security and income generation in arid regions, opening new opportunities for local farmers and trainees while demonstrating innovative climate adaptation.
Our vanilla plantation continues to flourish, now enriched with 360 additional vine cuttings generously received from Safal ALAF Foundation Tanzania. Vanilla, a high-value crop, not only contributes to biodiversity within the training institute’s environment but also holds significant potential for sustainable income generation for local communities. This initiative bridges environmental conservation with livelihood support, showcasing how climate action can directly improve lives.
At Mabati Technical Training Institute, sustainability is part of daily life. The thriving permaculture garden supplies fresh vegetables that support the daily lunch program for over 1,000 trainees, reducing food costs, enhancing nutrition, and demonstrating the potential of self-sustaining food systems within educational spaces.
The tree nursery at Mabati Technical Training Institute remains a hub for nurturing seedlings, supporting reforestation and afforestation while providing practical learning opportunities for trainees eager to take these climate-smart practices back to their communities.
With every seedling planted, every meal served, and every skill taught, we are building a greener, climate-resilient Kenya together. Your continued support fuels these initiatives, strengthens partnerships, and empowers communities to lead in climate action.
Thank you for believing in this vision. Together, we are transforming schools, empowering communities, and growing a greener future!
