If you follow us on social media, you know that we love to celebrate Tongue-Out Tuesday. Any of our residents from horses to goats will stick their tongue out for a photo. But we noticed that our burros have a special talent for sticking out their tongues. Our Burro Brigade has quite a portfolio of their Tongue-Out modeling.
One of the burros that will flash his tongue at any moment is Claude. Claude arrived to the ranch in arrived in June of 2022. Claude was named in honor of a major donor's father. The donor's father was a farrier. While many farriers prefer not to work with burros, we are confident that the donor's father would have enjoyed meeting this sweet burro. He absolutely adores our volunteers and he loves to get brushed. Claude is so friendly and loving. He reminds us of our late Milton Burro.
We cannot talk about Tongue-Out Tuesday without talking about our beloved Milton. Milton Burro was the burro that started it all. He was placed in our care by County of San Diego Department of Animal Services in 2009. He was our very first burro and he instilled in us a deep love for these long-eared wonders. Milton loved burros, horses, and humans alike. He was always a go-to for Tongue-Out Tuesday. He was such a character and had the silliest and sweetest personality. We were so saddened to say goodbye to him in 2016. He left a hole in our hearts.
Milton introduced us to the wonderful world of burros. Thank you for helping us continue Milton’s legacy. Each member of our Burro Brigade has their own amazing personality. We are so grateful that we are able to care for these special creatures thanks to supporters like you.
