Thank you once again for your continued support for this GlobalGiving project. It is one of the various ways we raise money for our Benevolent Fund, from which we are able to support deserving local, national and international causes.
Helped by the generosity of you, our GlobalGiving supporters, since our last report in June we have made the following donations from our Benevolent Fund:
£1,525 to St Luke’s Hospice: St Luke’s is our closest hospice and we support them on a regular basis. This donation was the proceeds of a ‘Paella in the Garden’ event in aid of St Luke’s, hosted by our outgoing 2024/25 President Patrick and his wife Carol.
£1,342.38 to our Kenya Secondary Education project: This is to fund the second year of our four-year Secondary Education project. We have agreed to sponsor three bright children from poor families through their Secondary Education (which is not free in Kenya), enabling them eventually to get better paid jobs and thus help their families out of poverty.
£500 to Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund: This is another local charity we support on a regular basis. It supports the needs of children with cancer and also provides respite care, allowing parents to have an occasional break from day to day caring.
