We are closing out a banner year at the Bonguile Project... We finally managed to fix the preschool's classrooms and playground equipment (after Cyclone Filipo) and we had a record 30 student graduate in November. These little ones are more than ready for the challenges of primary school next year!
At the graduation ceremony, students received cerificates and school supplies, and parents were praised for supporting their children through preschool all year long.
Due to the generosity of Bahia Mar guests and other friends, nearly all the cost of the school for 2025 have been covered. Together with donations received directly from guests at check-out (totalling $1950), and donations made online to the GlobalGiving page (totalling $1150), 62 out of 70 students have been covered for the 2025 budget of $3,500!
With just three weeks left to go, we are still hopeful to cover the costs of the last 8 students for the 2025 school year ($50 per student x 8 students = $400).
Ernesto, Zelia, Paulina and Nilza (our amazing preschool staff), as well as the children and parents are very grateful for for this unique and wonderful school - and you make possible!
