BUILDING A LEGACY OF PEACE

The future of our communities is intricately tied to how we raise our boys today. At the Boys Future, Boys Challenge (BFBC), we are dedicated to exploring the unique challenges and opportunities boys face as they transition into manhood.

This past quarter has been one of deep reflection and strategic foresight. As we look ahead, we realize that the challenges facing young men require more than just short-term fixes—they require a sustained movement. I am excited to share that we have officially begun the foundational planning for our 2026 BFBC Summit, a landmark event that will serve as a catalyst for change across the continent. Thank you for making this vision possible.

The Flagship Initiative: The Peace Pledge for Boys

The heart of our summit is the "Peace Pledge for Boys Campaign." This initiative is more than just a promise; it is a curriculum of compassion. Our goal is to:

Combat Youth Violence: By giving boys the tools to resolve conflicts without aggression.
Redefine Masculinity: Moving away from harmful stereotypes and toward a model of manhood rooted in empathy and service.
Foster Nurturing Communities: Creating environments where boys feel safe to express vulnerability and seek guidance.

Quarterly Update: The Path to 2026

This quarter, our focus shifted toward high-level planning and infrastructure for the 2026 BFBC Summit. While the event is still on the horizon, the groundwork being laid now is critical for its success.

Key Planning Activities This Quarter:

Curriculum Review: We are refining the "Peace Pledge" modules to ensure they remain relevant to the digital and social realities of 2026.
Stakeholder Engagement: We have begun identifying and reaching out to potential speakers, mentors, and partner organizations who can bring diverse perspectives to the summit.
Scaling Strategy: A major part of our current planning involves how to take the "Peace Pledge" into more rural communities following the summit, ensuring the impact is felt far beyond the event hall.

The Vision for the 2026 Summit

The upcoming summit aims to be our most ambitious yet. We are designing it to be a multi-day immersive experience that focuses on:

Mental Health & Resilience: Addressing the internal challenges boys face.
Economic Empowerment: Connecting boys with opportunities for growth.
Active Peace-Building: Training a new generation of mediators and empathetic leaders.

The Boys Future, Boys Challenge (BFBC) Summit

Dear Valued Supporters,

Your support for the BFBC Summit is an investment in a more peaceful and empathetic future, one boy at a time. It is with great excitement and pride that I share a monumental achievement from this past quarter—a milestone that moves our mission from aspiration to a tangible, state-sanctioned reality.

We have successfully secured official approval from the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to implement our flagship "Peace Pledge for Boys Campaign" in schools. This is a game-changing development that validates the importance of our work at the highest levels and opens the doors to the very communities of boys we are dedicated to reaching.

This approval is the green light we have been working towards. Now, we face the final hurdle of securing the resources to turn this incredible opportunity into action.

Our Mission: Redefining Masculinity Through Compassion

The BFBC Summit is dedicated to exploring the challenges and opportunities boys face as they grow into men. Our "Peace Pledge for Boys Campaign" is the cornerstone of this mission, a proactive initiative designed to combat youth violence and foster empathy. By empowering boys to resolve conflicts peacefully, we help them redefine masculinity through compassion, building safer and more nurturing communities for everyone.

Key Achievement This Quarter: A Game-Changing Approval

Our most significant achievement this quarter was receiving official approval from the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education for the implementation of the Peace Pledge for Boys Campaign.

Why this is so important:

Validation: It is a powerful endorsement of our curriculum and approach.
Access: It grants us the permission needed to bring this transformative program directly to thousands of boys within the school system.
Scalability: It provides a clear pathway for expanding our reach and impact across Lagos State.

This achievement elevates the Peace Pledge from an independent initiative to a state-approved program, poised for significant impact.

The Hurdle Before Us: Turning Approval into Action

While we have the official green light, we have not yet been able to launch the campaign in schools. This delay is due to a critical shortfall in funding required to hire and train the necessary program staff and produce the campaign materials.

Essentially, we have been given the key to the door, but we now need to fund the team that will walk through it and deliver this vital program to the boys waiting on the other side.

Our Plan for the Coming Quarter: Launching the Peace Pledge

With the Ministry's approval secured, our plans for the next quarter are clear and focused. We are preparing to swing into action as soon as the necessary funds are in place. Our immediate priorities are:

Recruitment: Hire a dedicated campaign coordinator and facilitators.
Training: Equip our new team with the skills to deliver the curriculum effectively.
Launch: Roll out the pilot program in the first cohort of designated schools.

Fostering Peace and Unity Among Boys

The BMAN Peace Pledge For Boys Campaign is dedicated to empowering young boys through peacebuilding, mentorship, and community engagement activities. By fostering values of tolerance, inclusion, and solidarity, we aim to cultivate a generation of peacemakers who contribute to harmonious communities. This report outlines our key achievements for the second quarter of 2025, reflecting our commitment to promoting peace and unity.

Key Achievements to Date

Maiden Peace Pledge Launch (April 2025)
- Organized a Peace Pledge ceremony in Ikorodu, engaging boys in a commitment to peace.
- Trained 22 Peace Ambassadors to mentor their peers and resolve conflicts within school environments, fostering a culture of dialogue and understanding.
Peacebuilding Workshop: Cultivating Tolerance, Inclusion, and Solidarity
- Held on May 16, 2025, in Lagos, Nigeria, in celebration of the International Day of Living Together in Peace.
- Empowered boys with essential values of peace and unity, equipping them with skills to promote inclusivity and collaboration in their communities.
Horse-Riding Excursion: Building Confidence and Teamwork
- Conducted at Parkview Estate, Ikorodu, this activity provided a unique opportunity for boys to develop trust, leadership, and resilience.
- The excursion symbolized the journey toward inner and collective peace, encouraging teamwork and personal growth.
Peace Pledge Campaign at Trinity Boys College, Abuja
- On May 24, 2025, BMAN’s FCT Abuja team organized a dynamic campaign at Trinity Boys College.
- The event promoted peace and unity among students, reinforcing the importance of collective responsibility and mutual respect.

Program Impact

The Peace Pledge For Boys Campaign has made significant strides in empowering boys to become advocates for peace. Through training, workshops, and experiential activities, participants have developed critical skills in conflict resolution, leadership, and community building. These efforts have strengthened school and community environments, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.
