Over the past months, our Nepal team has trained more than 200 parents, teachers, and students through our newest program, Trauma-Informed Child Participatory Schools and Communities (TICPS).
This intergenerational program—the first of its kind in Nepal—creates spaces for healing, truth-telling, and cultural transformation. Designed to dismantle authoritarian norms and challenge the silence around child sexual violence and mental health, TICPS supports youth and adults in co-creating safer, more just schools, homes, and communities.
The impact is clear: Students are stepping into their power—asking questions, sharing stories, and advocating for themselves. Adults, in turn, are shifting from control to collaboration. One teacher shared that the training inspired her to prioritize self-care and practice vulnerability, which deepened trust with her students—many of whom now see her as a mentor.
By centering youth voices and healing, TICPS fosters a culture where young people are not only safe and supported, they are shaping their futures.
