Summer is a season of hope—and anxiety—for many Roma youth in Bulgaria.
As university admission news arrive, so do the calls and messages to our team. Dozens of talented, hardworking young people ask:
“Is there any support available? Can I still pursue my dream?”
Each year, this is one of the most emotionally intense moments for our team. We’re overjoyed to see young Roma students being accepted into high-potential programs—law, medicine, pedagogy or for the highly competitive AUBG programs. But we also know that without a scholarship, many won’t be able to enroll at all or might need to pause their studies after a semester or two.
Your donations are the reason we can hope and give hope.

We invite you to meet Elvira, a graduate of the American University in Bulgaria. Elvira is now an advocate for youth civic engagement and education.

As we write this, we’re receiving more scholarship inquiries every day. We expect a significant number of new applicants this fall—and need your help to make sure we don’t have to turn anyone away due to lack of funds.

We’re aiming to raise enough by September to support at least 5 new scholars. The upcoming July Bonus Day Campaign on GlobalGiving is our big chance to do more!
