The Bring America Home Now Direct-Action Campaign seeks to address the critical issue of homelessness across the United States. As the nation grapples with increasing rates of housing instability, our campaign aims to mobilize communities, raise awareness, and advocate for policy changes that will ensure safe, affordable housing for all Americans and End Criminalization practices that fine, jail and arrest people because they are experiencing homelessness.
Homeless has grown to its highest recorded level in modern history. The growth in homelessness has ben fueled by dramatic housing cost, stagnant wages and the reliance on criminalization. Criminalization does not solve homelessness it exacerbates homeless. The overwhelming majority of citizens polled do not support criminalization yet we have seen a dramatic increase in these practices. The worst examples are it is a felony with up to six years in prison to be homeless in Tennessee.
We will solve the problem by raising awareness in local community and moving the general population to denounce these practices in their communities.
Increased public engagement and support for homelessness-related initiatives. Greater visibility of homelessness issues within media and public discourse. Concrete policy changes at the local, state, and national levels that address housing affordability and support services. Enhanced capacity of service organizations to support individuals experiencing homelessness.
