Bringing Technology to Orphan Students in Africa
By Vickie Lackman | Volunteer Vice President

Can you imagine not having access to computers in this day and age? Children in Tanzania have difficulty accessing computer education due to poverty and lack of resources. Orphans Africa pays the tuition for orphans to attend Isandula Vocational College to receive training in electrical, automotive electrical, solar power, driving, business entrepreneurship and in computers. Training in these areas allows them to find jobs and support themselves and their families. Our computer lab is growing but so is the number of number of students who need to use it.
Your donation to computers and technology will help these orphans have a chance in life.

COMPUTERS FOR ORPHANS IN TANZANIA

Computers for Vocational Education
The Isandula Vocational College is a small vocational college in a very poor area of Tanzania, in Africa. The college teaches students to be electricians and automotive electricians, as well as teaching with a driving program. Both are excellent programs and have resulted in nearly a 100% job placement record! Our organization, Orphans Africa, allows orphans to attend for free! This provides a way out of poverty for the orphan children who would otherwise have no escape from poverty. Jobs are plentiful for those who have these skills from the college.
More funds are needed to upgrade the computer laboratory to be able to train more orphan students. The two year program for electricians includes basic computer skills and the computers and computer laboratory are needed to continue teaching these computer skills so graduates can also start their own businesses in whatever community they choose. Computer skills are valuable in employment and building a business. Thank you for your assistance in helping vulnerable children to be independent and productive. Please support this successful program.

Orphan Students in Class at Mwaji Secondary School
African students cannot be left behind and should not be left behind in what is happening globally in the world of computers and techniology. Many African schools do not have computers and lack electricity to have computers and internet.
We have installed solar power at Mwaji Secondary School so that the students can study and use computers anytime, including during the night. We are buiding quality school programs with science/chemistry labs, library, and multiple academic subjects. We are determined to bring computers and technology instruction to the students at Mwaji Secondary School to give them the best learning experience and opportunities for jobs in the modern world.
The school currently needs computers, printers, power cords, and paper. Help us build this computer lab to give these orphan students the opportunity to have a quality education with computers.
