Summary: This report aims to throw light regarding ongoing works concerning Clean Water Initiative to provide wayer approximately 25000 inhabitants in and around MAHOLE village located in Kumba- Cameroon. In partnership with GlobalGiving we intend to raise funds to realize this project.
1) Introduction: Access to clean Water is a fundamental Human Rights, yet many communities in rural areas in Cameroon face challenges in obtaining safe drinking water. Recognizing this critical issue, HUFAC-Cameroon launched a project to provide sustainable water solutions to the inhabitants of MAHOLE village and suurounding areas, affected by the ongoing conflict in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon. This village was selected among many other villages because is hosting over 25000 Intenally Displaced Persons, (IDPs).
2) Project Overview: 2.1 Objective: The main Objective is to ensure that 25000 residence in and around Mahole village have access to clean and safe drinking water. 2.2 In collaboration with local stakeholders and community leaders, we have come up with a comprehensive plan to construct 4 bolehole water points in strategic areas to reduce burden and distance on women and children.
2.3 Recognizing the impotance of promoting good hygiene practices, HUFAC-Cameroon conducted several awareness campaigns to educate community members on handwashing techniques, water storage and conservation, as well as health benefits of proper hygiene practices.
3) Impact: We believe the project will improve the health and well-being of over 25000 inhabitants in and around Mahole village, reduce access and burden on women and children traveling long distances to collect water.
4) Sustainability: HUFAC-Cameroon believes in long- term and Sustainability, thats why plans and measures are taking like continuous water treatments and cleaning the environment to ensure maintenance when realized.
Conclusion: Through the collaboration of GlobalGiving and the unwavering support of donors like you and dedicated efforts of HUFAC-Cameroon, we believe the needed amount will be raised doonest to enable the realization of this important project. Water is live.
