It has been calculated that over 90% of children all over the world have been impacted by the school closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic. While this has accelerated the rise of online learning, the future consequences on children's education and mental health are hard to calculate.
Here in Crete we are seeing first hand how much more disadvantaged children and young adults are penalized by the gap in pandemic education. This damage could last a lifetime.
For this reason, we are offering disadvantaged children around us the possibility of firstly, be online, and secondly to have teachers and volunteers to support them during this period.
Learning a foreign language on your own can be very difficult, especially one that is as rich and complex as Greek. With your help we can insure these children are not left behind.
