Dear Friends,
The dry season has arrived in Simanjiro, and the village of Kiruru is bustling with activity.
Over the past few months, we have continued our work with this community, which we have been proud to support for many years. One key focus has been expanding household access to electricity: more than 15 additional households have now been connected to the village’s mini-grid, bringing the benefits of light, power, and opportunity to even more families.
Looking ahead, we are now exploring the possibility of drilling a borehole near the community, in order to provide a reliable source of clean water for both the school and the wider village. We are currently working with drilling and surveying companies to investigate the feasibility of this project, and will keep you updated as plans progress.
Kiruru continues to be a shining example of what can be achieved when a community’s determination is matched by your generosity and support. As ever, if you are able to share news of this project with friends and family, both we and the people of Kiruru would be immensely grateful.
Many thanks and kind regards,
Kirsten and the SVRG Team
