Help Aceh Clinic Staff With Secure Housing

Our staff housing project in Aceh is 20% funded. Renovation is continuing steadily as we raise funds to pay for the work and the workmen. At this point, the work is about half completed. We include photos of the ongoing work below. We now have 24 monthly donors contributing to this project.

Bumi Sehat Aceh is our second-oldest clinic and services an area in Aceh which is still medically under-resourced. Our staff delivered 570 instances of pre-natal care and welcomed 50 babies into the world in 2024. They gave 9985 general medical exams and made 181 medical home visits, plus much more. Our Samatiga clinic is essential to the local community and we are still honoring the committment we made to them more than 20 years ago.

Our Aceh staff have successfully finished with the government's new accreditation process for health clinics and birthing centers in Indonesia. Now, we are waiting for the results. Given that our Lombok and Bali clinics both passed with perfect scores, we anticipate Aceh will also pass with flying colors! Our Papua clinic is also in the final stages of accreditation. This means that shortly all our Indonesian clinics will be fully accreddited in line with the new national regulations.

Our Aceh Director has hired building workers and they are starting on the first stages of renovating the old staff housing building. The first stages are reinforcing the floors on the upper floor and putting in safety railings all around the top level. Once the floors are reinforced, the workers will start repairing and reinforcing the walls and ceilings. 

We've raised $9,464 so far, which is 17.2% of the way to our total goal of $55,000. The Aceh clinic will continue to renovate the old building and strengthen it structurally as donations come in.
