Building Hope for Neurodivergent Learners

By Phyllis W. Munyi | Executive Director

Summary:
Thanks to your generous contributions, we’ve made significant strides in our efforts to expand and improve learning spaces for neurodiverse children. While we did not raise enough funds to complete the planned permanent classroom block, your support enabled a meaningful interim solution—and we are more committed than ever to completing the journey.

What We Achieved:
Faced with urgent space constraints due to rising enrollment, we utilised a combination of GlobalGiving funds and our savings to construct two temporary classrooms made of iron sheets. These makeshift classrooms are currently in use and have helped relieve some of the overcrowding while ensuring continued learning for our students.

Remaining Needs:
We still need to complete the final 40% of the original construction, which includes permanent classrooms and essential sanitation facilities. Completing this phase will:

  • Allow us to accommodate the growing number of children seeking specialised education.

  • Improve the teacher-to-student ratio, ensuring more personalised instruction.

  • Provide dignified, inclusive, and safe learning environments for learners with dyslexia and other learning difficulties.

  • Enhance hygiene through proper toilets and sanitation facilities, safeguarding the health of students and staff.

Call to Action:
We are incredibly grateful for your continued partnership. Your support has already made a difference, and with your help, we can finish what we started. Let’s build lasting, inclusive spaces for children who need them most.

Thank You
Your generosity is helping to change lives—one classroom at a time.
