The project empowers 570 Dalit and marginalized women in Kalika and Khairahani, Chitwan, to become small-scale entrepreneurs through business start-up support. Funded training by Karuna Trust enhances their skills and financial literacy, while your donation directly helps them start enterprises, support their families, and rise from poverty to dignity, independence and sustainable livelihoods. Your hard-earned contribution will provide essential business start-up support for women.
These women continue to face deep-rooted structural barriers, including caste discrimination, social injustice, systemic exclusion and vulnerable to gender based violence. They lack economic opportunities, start-up capital, and collateral to access loans, which excludes them from formal financial systems. As a result, their confidence declines and potential remains untapped, trapped into vicious cycle of poverty limiting their ability to build lives of dignity, stability, and self-reliance.
This project solves the problem by organizing 570 trained women into 38 groups that promote mutual support, shared learning, and joint decision-making. Each group receives USD 500 in start-up funds to launch farming and small enterprises, reducing financial barriers and risk. Working collectively strengthens bargaining power, improves market access, boosts incomes and builds confidence, leadership, transformation and long-term economic independence.
The Women-Led Business Platform will empower 570 women to lead and manage sustainable businesses, increasing household income, reducing poverty and strengthening financial resilience. Economic empowerment will enhance women's decision-making power, contribute to reduced violence against women and girls, improve access to healthcare and education for children, strengthen family well-being and drive lasting community transformation toward dignity and equality.
