The Capacity Building program was launched almost 3 years. The 3 marginalized and grassroots women's self help organizations have built capacity through core training and the inputs from in-house trainers. Leaders of the groups learnt skills and practice what they have learnt to improve their work in their daily operation of the organization. 2 of the participating leaders became part-time staff of the New Immigrant women's group, they became more equipped with the capacities to organize programs and activities for other women.
With you donation and support, women are empowered to lead and to serve more women in need. Recently, one of the participating organizations, JJJ Association, a sex workers self-help group, designed and organized a very successful fundraising event to raise over USD 2000 for running their organization. They used their learnings in planning and delivering the event - a series of interesting Tours on Sex work, aiming to raise funds as well as breaking the myths towards sex work and sex. They also held a small workshop to teach the participants to make condoms. Donations were raised through entry fees and displaying donation collection box. The event was well organized and attracted many people from the community to join.
We can see the women leaders of the organizations are more equipped and capable to organize innovative and interesting fundraising events for their organizations as a result of our capacity building project. This also allows the organizations to be more sustainable and able to engage more people from the community to support their work.
While we are counting the achievements of this project, we deeply appreciate your givings and support to this project ! In the coming last phase of the capacity building program, we will be deepening their knowledge on project monitoring, evaluation and report writing. We still need your support to this project at this last phase and looking forward to bringing more good news updates to you ! Thank you !
