As we enter our next three-year grant cycle, Colectivo CARE—founded by Livity Rising, Integrative Healers Action Network, and Acupuncturists Without Borders—is expanding to meet growing community needs. Alongside our 20 mobile clinics providing over 2,100 treatments annually, we’re now launching 20 wellness circles focused on stress and pain reduction. These group sessions offer culturally sensitive, trauma-informed care and self-care tools to support community well-being.

We continue to operate in a landscape of shifting and increasingly complex immigration policies that directly impact farmworkers and their families. These challenges require us to stay flexible and responsive — changing how and where we provide services to keep clinics safe, accessible, and trusted.

Still, Colectivo CARE shows up. And we will continue to do so — because the farmworker community wants and needs this care.

Despite being essential to our food supply — producing one-third of all vegetables, two-thirds of fruits and nuts, and 90% of U.S. strawberries from California alone — farmworkers face immense barriers: limited healthcare access, inadequate housing, and minimal insurance. 

This stark contrast between their contributions and the conditions they endure is exactly why our work matters — and why your support is so critical.

Thanks to you, we remain flexible, expanding outreach and adapting care to meet the needs of the community. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished — and we know there’s more to do.

We are grateful to the extraordinary dedication, amazing skill and care of our volunteers, community partners, staff and YOU. Because of you, Colectivo CARE continues to flourish! All clinics are free of charge and farmworkers and their families are able to receive acupuncture, ear seeds, chiropractic and massage in any combination of their choosing. 

However, we have had challenges.

We paused clinics in February to meet with our leadership team, community partners and staff to brainstorm and educate ourselves, to find the best way to run our community clinics. Together, we persevere to continue to provide free, high quality integrative healthcare to the farmworker community starting once again in March. Since starting again in March, Colectivo CARE has provided nearly 200 treatments to the farmworker community.

The farmworker community, besides experiencing inadequate nutrition, terrible living conditions and limited health insurance ALSO produce 1/3 of the vegetables, 2/3 of the fruits and nuts and 90% of all strawberries grown in the United States.

For all their incredible, essential work, the very least we can do is demonstrate the commitment to them that they provide to us, enduring extreme pain and stress, so we have food on our tables!  

Farmworkers and their families deserve better!
