The team continue to work hard on the ground in Brazil with the children and community of Mata Escura. Donations to this project help us to provide support and security to the community helping to ensure a safe and consistent education for the young students who may otherwise spend their time wandering the streets exposed to dangers and temptations.
Whilst volunteers work alongside the local teachers to help bring structure into the classroom donations help to dramatically improve the conditions within the school.
Currently donations help to cover the salaries for four local teachers and provide educational materials and a feeding program for the children. Coming from poor families many of the children may be malnourished and struggle to concentrate when at school. The feeding program aids concentration and improves attendance.
Donations also help to bring some joy to the school by funding small birthday celebrations for children when their big day comes around, purchasing what may be their only gift.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this project.
