If one year could rewrite the story of a child....

By Christeena Kurian | Sponsorship Secretary

If one year could rewrite the story of a child, we are glad we did thousands!!!

Siddharth* was spotted and enrolled in Ashraya Community Centre a year back. His parents were happy to drop him at the centre every day, knowing he is in the safe hands. They were relieved and excited to hear that we provide the children nutritious meals and good elementary education. The child had a tough time adapting to the new schedule and the staff struggled to keep the child disciplined. He only knew the ways of the street but the staffs were compassionate to gently correct him multiple times. It wasn't an easy road as the child always needed undivided attention and one staff had to dedicate entire time watching him out!

Months passed by and everyone started witnessing small changes like he wasn't hesitant to wear footwear or fasten all the buttons on his shirt, later he wouldn't throw tantrums to sit on a row or write something or wash his hands before and after food. The rough child who walked in the doors of Ashraya was transformed into a well groomed, disciplined and well mannered boy. Just wow! Isn’t it?

We have countless stories like this, and all made possible because of donors like you.
