Dear Friend,
Greetings from El Shaddai Charitable Trust Goa!
I would like to share the latest updates to our supporters "How our children thrive"
Our children were on Diwali vacation for two weeks. The Incharges conducted Holiday activities for the children. Children were very excited and had a good and adventurous holidays.
Outing cum Educational Tour to Children: On 1st & 2nd Nov, Octopus Surf school off the Arabian Sea invited our children to surf at Morzim Goa. Children were taught how to handle a surfboard, get on the board, paddle, catch a wave and stand up! The instructors also demonstrated to our children carving a wave. Around 15 volunteers got involved with the children and supported and helped the children during the program. After two hours of surfing lesson, a short video was shown on the different types of species living in the Ocean. Miss Pooja came up with a large dolphin soft toy and a chart of the marine mammals of India, and explained to the children. She focused on the Indian dolphins, children learned a lot about fish which was very beneficial in their learning.
On 27th October, our children also visited Fort Aguada, it is a well-preserved seventeenth-century Portuguese fort, along with a lighthouse, standing in Goa, on Sinquerim Beach, overlooking the Arabian Sea. Children truly enjoyed the trip and learned more about the monument which was a great help for them in their subjects.
Child Abuse Prevention Awareness: Child abuse and neglect occurs across the country, regardless of income and education, race and region. On 1st November 2022, Little Acorns, project of El Shaddai conducted an awareness run to spread the unspoken concern. All our children and 250 participants took part in the run enthusiastically to end the stigma of child abuse. The Chief guest for the program was the General Manager of the Park Calangute hotel and MLA of Calangute constituency also took part in releasing the press note encouraging people to support and be part of the great cause. Children performed a theme based dance to spread information to make the world a safer place for children.
All the events were possible to have with all your support and help. Thank you to all of our donors and supporters for investing into the life of these children to think big, learn and grow.
