Let's change their story, and their lives!

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Dear Donor,

What is education? For a small child, who has never seen nor heard what a school or classroom looks like, education is nothing but a dream, a mystery, and a wish. Most of us who have had the privileges of choosing where we want to study, what we wish to accomplish, and who we want to become. However, have we given a thought about those who never had the chance to express their childhood dreams, and their future goals?

The underprivileged are trapped in the continuous cycle of generational poverty, malnutrition, and lack of education facilities. They are denied the chances of breaking free from the clutches of unemployment and poverty and therefore, depriving them of the tools they could use to make their lives better, richer and fuller.

The outreach team of El Shaddai reaches out to these children with open arms so that they can grab the new opportunities to prepare themselves for their new, improved lives. The most important part of our mission is to educate these children, giving them the childhood that they deserve.

This is the story of Sham (name changed). His parents migrated to Goa in search of work. They are a family of 3 children between the ages of 2 & 9 years. His mother sells balloons to support for the family. Their living conditions are poor as they do not have a proper shelter, and are living on the street. Our outreach worker immediately sensed the plight they were living in and suggested the mother to admit her children into our El Shaddai Homes. Soon the child and his siblings were admitted and welcomed into our loving home which offered them comfort, companionship, nourishing food, education and the possibility of a secure future.

You have the opportunity to make a difference in a child's life by supporting our work through your genuine contribution. With your help, we will strive to reach out to children who are full of hope, eagerly waiting for a helping hand to hold onto.

Sincerely,

El Shaddai Family.
