Thanks to Your Incredible Support, We Have So Much to Celebrate Together!

By Sophie Drysdale | COO

As you may know, this week we celebrated our brilliant and hardworking young musicians, their supportive families, amazing teachers, and you – our wonderful supporters – at a memorable event held at Cadogan Hall. Your generosity and support – both in spirit and in person – make a difference!

We are also deeply thankful to Cadogan Hall, which has supported our work through a charity partnership since last year, giving our students the unforgettable experience of performing in this iconic music venue.

We are always thrilled to offer these special opportunities for our friends and supporters to experience the skills and dedication of our young musicians firsthand. We are incredibly proud of the students who bring not only their musical talent but also a sense of connection and confidence – nurtured by a caring community and your continued support.

In the previous report, we shared that 89% of our students feel connected to others at Nucleo, which strongly correlates with increased confidence when playing as part of a group. 93% of students believe they play with good technique and 80% of students’ attitude to learning was rated as Good or Excellent by their tutors. While they make consistent musical progress – many advancing to prestigious junior conservatoire programmes – the main thing our students report is that attending Nucleo has improved their sense of responsibility, independence and resilience, and above all, increased their confidence. Our assessment data confirms that even the most nervous students perform better when they feel confident in their abilities.

Being part of Nucleo requires commitment – on average, a minimum of four hours a week, 30 weeks a year – but it’s a commitment our young people embrace with joy and pride: 96% say they feel proud to be a part of the programme. They tell us how happy they are when they play, that they love their instrument and how much fun they have at Nucleo. 87% of students report feeling connected to others at Nucleo and many say that being surrounded by friends helps them perform to audiences of up to 700 people without fear.

We are so grateful to have you with us on this journey!
