Dear Valued Supporters,
The conversation around this devastating illness has been growing, with celebrities, communities, medical professionals, and others lending their voices. Since the inception of our project, based in Essex, the survival rate has seen a significant increase. While other charities focus on funding vital research for a cure, your support helps us provide immediate relief to young children and their families living through this nightmare every day.
Imagine the shock and despair when a child as young as 4 or 5 is diagnosed with cancer. It turns families’ lives upside down overnight. Parents are faced with the difficult choice of working or becoming full-time caregivers. The financial burden of travel and parking for hospital visits adds to the stress.
As we head into winter in the UK, your generous donations have enabled us to send three families on a week-long retreat to a safe home for some respite. We’ve also provided over ten grants to families in financial need and delivered 60 care packages to families admitted to hospital following a cancer diagnosis.
Our team has been actively fundraising since donations have taken a dip. In October, we hosted a local theatre show - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - which helped fund our activities for September and October. We also kicked off a ‘spot the signs of childhood cancer’ campaign.
As we approach Christmas, we are preparing something special to raise awareness and funds. This fight is cruel and tough, but your support has lightened the load for many families.
Thank you for your continued generosity!
