In Colombia, many talented children from low-income families are denied access to safe and effective education. One of them is eight-year-old Guadelupe, who shares a small room and a bed with her seriously ill grandmother. Despite her strong enthusiasm for learning, the public school she attends does not allow her potential to grow.
Public schools in vulnerable neighborhoods are often unsafe environments. Drug gangs operate around school grounds, and kidnappings—especially of girls—are not uncommon. Instead of being protected and nurtured, children are exposed to constant risk. Through this project, we aim to save children like Guadelupe by providing access to quality education and supporting the development of their talents and skills.
At present, the situation is critical.
Our total fundraising goal is €61,858, but so far only €115 has been raised.
This means €61,743 is still urgently needed, with just 4 donors supporting the project so far. Without increased engagement and financial support, the project cannot move forward.
For this reason, sharing the project link with friends, family, and networks is extremely important. Even small donations and simple acts of sharing can significantly increase visibility and help us reach children who are still waiting for help.
Challenge
Many gifted children from low-income families in Medellín are trapped in a failing public education system. Schools are underfunded, overcrowded, and often affected by drug abuse and criminal activity. These children, despite being intelligent and motivated, have no real opportunity to develop their abilities or gain a solid education.
Education is one of the most powerful tools in the fight against poverty. Without access to safe, high-quality schooling, these children face a high risk of dropping out, exploitation, or recruitment by criminal groups. Scholarships are often the only path that can change their future.
Solution
We aim to establish and support a Scholarship Fund, implemented in several stages:
Identification and selection of candidates
We identify children with special talents in various fields who come from low-income families in local neighborhoods, parishes, and community institutions.
Awarding of scholarships
Selected children receive full or partial scholarships that cover the cost of education at carefully chosen private schools, based on professional and community recommendations.
This approach ensures that support goes directly to children with both need and potential, maximizing the impact of every donated euro.
Long-Term Impact
The children supported by the Scholarship Fund will gain access to education that opens the door to a safer, healthier, and more hopeful future—free from drugs and violence. With proper educational support, these young people can become leaders in their communities, role models for others, and contributors to strong, stable families.
In the long term, the project addresses not only individual needs but also the necessity of financial stability and better coordination of educational support, helping to make the fund sustainable and effective over time.
At this moment, the project is at a very early and fragile stage.
€115 raised out of €61,858 clearly shows how much support is still needed.
We kindly ask supporters not only to donate, but also to share the project link widely. Sharing is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to help this project reach new donors and give children like Guadelupe a real chance at a better life.
Every contribution—and every share—matters.
