Thanks to your unwavering support, children like Gayatri are not just surviving—but thriving.
Gayatri, a 1 year and 10-month-old girl from a remote village in southern Rajasthan, was severely malnourished when Sitadevi, the caretaker (Balaskhi) of the Seva Mandir-run daycare center, first met her. Weighing only 6.1 kilograms, Gayatri was weak, silent, and sat quietly in her mother’s lap.
Because of your support, our trained frontline worker was able to act quickly. Gayatri was referred to the nearby health centre, where she received urgent medical care and nutrition counselling. Most importantly, her mother was gently guided on how to take care of her at home, by giving her simple, nutritious meals, maintaining hygiene, and offering the love, attention, and stimulation every child needs to grow.
With every follow-up visit, Gayatri showed progress. From gaining weight and learning to eat on her own, to running around, talking, and playing with other children—her transformation has been truly remarkable. Today, she weighs a healthy 8.9 kilograms and is full of energy, curiosity, and joy.
