It's been an incredible couple of months in Birgunj. Thanks to Tobias from ASHA we got a new water filter donated, which means no more arsenic in our water and we don't have to buy drinking water anymore for the boys. They are very excited about having showers in very clean water!
We have also had some amazing volunteers helping at the home - thanks to them we have a new green house (now full of delicious tomatoes and chilies), wonderfully painted walls in the dining room and other areas, children got to know some circus skills and two film makers recorded a couple of fantastic videos for us. We will present the videos to you all soon.
The boys also got a chance to practise their English and now some of them are even able to chat impressively about politics with any new visitors. There has also been a lot of dancing, music, making paper snowflakes for Christmas and as always - cricket! The weather in Birgunj is quite strange in the winter - for about a couple of weeks every year we get a really thick fog, that looks like something straight out of a Stephen King inspired movie! It can be quite scary not being able to see anything in front of you - but fun for the boys...
We also welcomed two new boys to our home, two lovely brothers. They have adjusted very well, have started their school and their exam grades were amazing.
We are hoping 2017 will be as good, or even better, than 2016. Thank you so much for all your support and please spread the word about us and our projects.
