Futuristic Nepal - 2074!

So time really flies in Nepal when you deal with children - we have just celebrated the Nepali New Year and now we're in 2074!

Our children celebrated the New Year combined with the International Day fo Street Children by holding an arts contest with other children from the area. A local artist was a judge and she chose the winner. It was a lot of fun and all children enjoyed it so much - you never know, maybe one day on the future one or more of them will become famous artists themselves.

Our garden is looking better and better and we are not getting a lot of our own organic vegetables. All the boys and us were digging our first potatoes of the year and we had a competition who could find the biggest one.

From very sad news, our buffalo broke her leg so we are still not sure if she will recover but we got best vets involved so there is still a chance. And she is a strong lady! We will know in 2 months time. All the boys are looking after her very well.

And from very happy news - Raju, our wonderful boy whom we lost a few months ago to a street gang and got taken to Delhi, came back on his own to our home and he cannot be happier. We had a big celebration at the home then.

Two of our oldest boys have just done their work experience during the school holidays at our charity cafe in Kathmandu (The Cafe with No Name) and one of them wants to study in the capital next year and work part time with us. They learnt how to make good coffee, food, all the hygiene and interacted with the customers very well. They practised their English a lot so were very happy. We arranged rock climbing for them in their spare time so they have experienced a lot of new things here.

Now the new school year has started so the boys are studying hard again.

We will be updating you with their progress shortly.

And as always, thank you so much for all the support - we wouldn't be able to run the project without it.
