A charged mob of around 7,000 people stormed a Christian colony in the Jaranwala Tehsil of Faisalabad district on Wednesday morning, where they ransacked and torched couple of Christian colonies (houses), 22 churches to ashes over blasphemy allegations, locals and police said. In addition to this, mob also attacked nearby Christian graveyard. At least, 1000 Christian families got directly affected. Pak Mission Society will support through cash-based transfer for meeting the immediate needs.
An enraged mob ransacked and torched more than 20 churches and hundreds of Christian community houses to ashes in the Jaranwala tehsil of Faisalabad on Wednesday over blasphemy allegations. Furthermore, a nearby Christian cemetery was also attacked. Hundreds of Christian families left the area due to life threats. Higher ups in Government of Pakistan took notice. As of now section 144 has been imposed with rangers been deployed to maintain law and order situation.

Longer term Impact/goal of our intervention is to help the affected Christian families to return to their normal life they were enjoying before the devastating attacks.
