By Varsha Jain | Project Leader
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our supporters whose generosity has helped us to transform many lives in South Rajasthan. Ambabai, a sanitation worker (Aarogya Mitra) from Rajsamand district, is one of them. Amba used to work as a sanitation worker in hotels and on government road projects without the dignity she deserved. However, through the project, Amba Bhai transitioned from being identified by her caste to holding the respected title of "Aarogya Mitra" (Sanitation Worker). Equipped with essential tools to enhance her work, Ambabai also became an elected member of the Village Development Committee, representing sanitation workers. Over the years, she received comprehensive training in team building, workplace safety & manual scavenging laws, and skill development, empowering her to advocate for her community and contribute to village development.
This work has become her main source of income and has given her the respect she has always sought.
Your support not only enables sanitation workers like Ambabai to live with dignity, but also strengthens local livelihoods and helps protect the environment. Thank you for being part of this powerful change and we hope you will continue to support this vital project to save our environment.
