Time to Celebrate!

By Sarah-Joy Hearty | Administrator

Our new Counselling Manager has found this summer to be a very busy time balancing the number of counselling requests with some counsellors away on holiday break. We are believing for more counsellors to come 'on board' with us to cope with the demand.  Its always an encouragement to know that people are seeking counselling support as that means they are talking about and addressing mental health issues.

We are very excited as we are in preparation for celebrating 20 years of Hope Trust this November. We have a scheduled event taking place in Athlone and organisation for this has been happening over the past few months. We designed an invite and are excited to say we've had a great response. We will have our founder there on the day, Graeme Wylie and both he and our current CEO Linda Rowett will be interviewed. We are also in the process of putting together a 'reeling in the years' video/photographs collage that will be shown at the event. Over the Summer we worked a lot on designing Christmas Cards that we plan to give to our guests as a gift at the event. This was a previous fundraiser years ago and people received them well then so we felt this fitted 'reeling in the years' well  plus they will be ready just in time for Christmas.

So much has happened and developed over the past 20 years for Hope Trust and as we always say it is an honour to play a role in helping people in this world. We are so grateful to God, to the many people on our team and to every single person who has supported our charity to bring us to where we are today. We will be keeping everyone up to date on our social media and website.

Every year we do our Candle-lit Walk on October 31st and preparations have also begun for this. We will gather with people from around and surrounding the local area and walk across the bridge in Athlone to remember the lives of loved ones lost to suicide. We usually stop for a moments silence on our way.  We will take time to pray for all affected by this and gather in the centre of Athlone to stand together, remember and reach out in support to those in need of help..

Our social media will be active in the coming weeks as we mark Suicide Prevention Month in September, Promote our Candle Lit Walk in October and include our online audience in the celebrations of marking 20 Years of Hope Trust in November.

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, supported and cared for our charity over the years. We are ever grateful and we look forward to all that is to come in the coming years.

Heartfelt thanks and many blessings from all at Team Hope.
