Supporting dreams, Building lives

By Julia Matthew | Managing Director

Dear Patron,

Greetings from El Shaddai Charitable Trust. We bring to you our report on “After Care support”.

As we continue to provide all our children with basic necessities that ensure a healthy livelihood, we also strive to provide after care support systems and empowerment to children towards being prepared to lead independent lives after they reach a certain age.

At the age of 18, our children are encouraged to seek their own path in life with all our combined efforts to aid and support their interests and choices. This, along with your contributions helps us provide for our children with aftercare. This time for the young adults is very challenging and emotional as they have to make the transformation from a teenager to a young adult.

Aftercare is  a preparatory stage for young adults during which they are provided by us financial support, training in skills, handholding for career development, counseling for managing emotions and such other measures that contribute to the process of their social mainstreaming.

We at El Shaddai always believe that “a child of El Shaddai will always be a child” of El Shaddai. These children are not left alone after completion of stay in the Homes. For this purpose, we also have cottages for boys and girls where they can stay and be independent and also get the necessary support and care from the organization.

We bring to you a beautiful story of a boy named Vishal (name changed). He lived with his mother on the streets of Margao, Goa. He often dreamt of playing football as he would see the boys playing on the football ground. But because of poverty his dreams were held back. But one day our team reached out to him and enrolled him in our boy’s home. From there on  there was no looking back. He was so happy for now he would be able to achieve his dreams in reality. He is presently working in a restuarant and also plays football for various tournaments. There are many such children who need such support and care and we can do all this and more only with your kind and thoughtful generosity.

We extend our gratitude to all our wonderful donors, well-wishers, friends who aid us in transforming children lives to a better one.

Sincerely

El Shaddai Family
