The unpredictable COVID-19 has impacted billions of nation globally. During these unpredictable times, the NGOs has faced the challenges in combating the coronavirus and its impact on the society.
St. Nicholas' Home, Penang is an NGO who provides multi-service for the blind and visually impaired. The pandemic has impacted all aspects of our work from running physical fundraising and volunteer programmes, planning finances, maintenance & repairing and how to coordinate staff to work from home.
However, the challenges were paving the way for new opportunities and innovative ways of working. We adjusted our funding and programme activities to a greater flexibility, exploring online fundraising and updating our website with more features and higher accessiblity.
We are embracing new styles of working, communicating and collaborating. Remote working and work from home have swiftly become the new norm with a growing reliance on cloud-based platforms, tele-conference and new techlogies to support staff.
We also ensure our blind and visually impaired community stay informed with the up-to-date instructions and guideluines from the Government. We spread the advice on how to prevent Coronavirus to our blind and visually impaired community.
Finally but not least, we would like to express our gratitude upon GlobalGiving and our generous donor who help us during this unpredictable pandemic.
