Thank you for keeping up with the Craft2Gether program!
We're gearing up for summer and so excited to share more craft kits with children in the San Diego area. We just wrapped up a weaving program for teens where we taught them how to weave on floor looms and rigid heddle looms. The theme was how craft can help improve mental health. They logged their initial mental state and then at the end, their mental state after weaving for 2 hours. Did you know that weaving has been shown to combat stress and anxiety?
Weaving craft kits are coming soon, and we can't wait to share some images of those with you all soon.
In other fiber news, we just wrapped up Fiber Fest, where we demonstrated to community members the process of shearing sheep and processing wool. It was a free event with lots of hands-on crafting components, including a hand sewing station, and a scavenger hunt.
Things are bustling around our studio right now, and we are ready to serve the community more craft!
Thank you for your support! Your help is so needed as we bring craft kits to schools, refugee children, and other under-resourced kids in the San Diego community.
Warm regards,
Steffanie
