Happy New Year from the African Impact Foundation Team! Thank you for being in our circle of change during such a challenging year and we can't wait to continue making impact alongside you in 2021!
Although not all of our activities in Cape Town have restarted due to COVID-19, we ended off 2020 with an incredible sports program for vulnerable youth!
Our incredible partner, XOXO Sports, funded a multi-day program hosted by Sporting Chance over the December holidays. One of our gender equality partners, IKASI Soccer School girls, was there as well.
45 kids and 5 coaches from the community of Khayletisha gathered with so much positive energy! The days were filled with physical training, soccer, and netball.
Opportunities like this lead to brighter futures! Sports stimulate physical and mental growth. It boosts self-esteem, develops your social skills, and teaches leadership. The youth in Khayletisha often struggle to find positive role models. The coaches in the sporting program provide someone that they can look up to and trust.
Check out this video of the first day of the program!
We hope you are also staying as healthy, happy, and active as you can during this time! Thank you so much for supporting our Cape Town projects!
Kind regards,
Sarah Nielsen
