Happy New Year from the African Impact Foundation Team! Thank you for being in our circle of change during such a challenging year and we can't wait to continue making impact alongside you in 2021!
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of the local Induna (tribal councillor/headman) in St. Lucia who we have worked with for years. He was a good friend, mentor, and guide to many and he is greatly missed.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, as well as the passing of the Induna, all AIF activities in St.Lucia are currently on pause. When working with communities, a relationship with the Induna is very important. Most organizations are not accepted by the community until they have been approved of by the Induna, and therefore before we restart any of our projects we must first build a relationship with the new Induna.
When a relationship has been established and we are able to restart projects, the most critical needs of the community will be our priority. Health and wellbeing, food security, and job security have all been heavily affected by the pandemic.
We appreciate your support! Because of you, our projects in St. Lucia will be able to continue! We can't thank you enough for that!
We hope you are staying as healthy, happy, and active as you can during this time!
Kind regards,
Sarah Nielsen
