More than two billion people around the world lack access to safe water. In communities already threatened by displacement, war, and climate crisis, the right to water is key to survival.
IsraAID’s water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) experts are working to put water in the hands of vulnerable communities across the globe. Our teams currently implement water access programs in 8 countries, ensuring thousands of people gain access to water every year. Alongside our trusted local partners, we are committed to having a sustainable impact on those we serve, building stronger, more resilient communities.
In Mozambique, over 3,250 students and 32 teachers have gained access to clean water at Impire school in Metuge district. IsraAID’s WASH experts drilled a borehole and installed a water distribution system in the school, providing safe water access to all students and staff. Before IsraAID’s intervention, the school was dependent on harvesting rainwater which proved to be a big challenge during the dry season.
Our WASH team are also conducting hygiene demonstrations for children in resettlement camps. Through teaching handwashing techniques, we are encouraging a culture of safe hygiene practices among community members. These efforts play a crucial role in promoting health and well-being, ensuring a brighter future for the young people of Mozambique.
