Daytrip to the Kruger
Daytrip to the Kruger

Recently, the children from our program had an unforgettable opportunity to go on a day trip with The Other Animal Safaris to the world-famous Kruger National Park. For many of them, it was their very first time seeing wild animals in their natural habitat — elephants, lions, giraffes, and zebras they had only ever heard about or seen in pictures.

Through our Green Kidz initiative, we aim to give children their first real connection to nature and wildlife. These day trips are not just outings; they are powerful lessons in empathy, conservation, and respect for the environment. When children see the beauty of the bush and understand the importance of protecting it, their mindset begins to change. This is where our mission to fight poaching through environmental education truly starts — by inspiring a generation of young people who care deeply for the animals and landscapes around them.

In many of the rural communities where we work, children have very limited exposure to nature. By giving them the chance to experience wildlife firsthand, we are helping to create future wildlife ambassadors who will champion conservation through experience, immersion, and understanding.

However, we still need greater awareness and support to continue offering these life-changing experiences. Funding is essential to cover the costs of transport, food, guides, and entry fees, so that more children can participate in these transformative day trips.

Please help us spread the word by sharing our project with your friends, family, and networks. Together, we can bring more children into nature, nurture their curiosity, and build a generation that values and protects Africa’s incredible wildlife.

When a child learns to love nature, they learn to protect it — one trip, one child, one life-changing experience at a time.
