Dear Supporters,
Usually this report is a great way for us to showcase how the children of our community in South Africa are progressing with their education. Sadly due to COVID-19 the schools were forced to close and our operations quickly adapted to providing meals for the children and their families as parents lost their jobs and forced into one of the strictest lockdowns in the world.
Since the schools closed we have been working to provide resources to assist with home schooling but also more importantly five women in the community began to cook a daily hot meal to provide those in the community that found themselves unemployed and unable to provide through this unexpected challenging time. With your donations we are able to fund a cooker, gas and ingredients to cook a hot meal for over 500 people daily.
With increasing demand we are fundraising to purchase a second gas stove, gas and food to help further in the community. From today until 18th September GlobalGiving are running their amazingly generous little by little campaign, this means if you donate $50 today it will be 25% matched making your donation $75.
With $75 this would fund 50% of a new gas stove or one gas bottle that lasts around 4-5 days or would fund the food for 50 people for today. Please help us continue the vital support needed for our children while we fight this pandemic and begin to reopen our schools.
Thank you!
With Grattude,
SA Education
