HOPE Africa team returned to the Riverlands community which was affected by floods in August 2024. This marks one year after the residents had to flee their homes as a result the dams bursting. HOPE Africa provided warm blankets and clothing to the community during this difficult time. Early 2025, temporary shelters were erected allowing residents to return to the area.
The anniversary that HOPE Africa participated in was a celebration of the resilience of this community during this difficult time. HOPE Africa CEO, Canon Delene Mark and HOPE Africa staff were part of this anniversary and got to witness the resilience of this community. Thanks to your generous contributions, we are able to continue supporting this community and not as a one-time intervention. The community members continued to dance through the rain and thanked HOPE Africa and its donors for the continued support.
