Greetings and happy new year! The beginning of 2026 marks the start of a new focus for the HOPE Africa team to strategize and reprioritize its relief efforts. We understand that disasters can strike without warning and as a result we should always have resources available to respond. When reflecting on all the relief efforts we’ve been able to support through your generous contributions, we realized that we also need to do follow ups on the areas we have already supported. This reaffirms our commitment to supporting these communities as opposed to a once off band aid. We were only able to do this once in Riverlea where we attended their one-year anniversary.
Our goal in 2026 is to provide ongoing support to areas that we’ve supported in the past to assess how impactful our intervention was and what else can be done to close any new gaps that were not picked up the first-time round. We will be using available resources to close those gaps. Quarterly reports will be published to give you updates on the work we’ve done. We will not neglect any new requests in the meantime, but we felt it was important to also prioritize follow ups.
Thank you for the continued support from the inception of this appeal.
